Volcano Vaporizer Replacement Parts

Volcano Vaporizer Parts

The popular Volcano Vaporizer has basically three parts: the conical hot air generators, the valves and the balloon bag to trap and store the resulting vapors.

The valves are of two types:  Easy Valve and Solid Valve. These are used for either the Volcano Digital or the Volcano Classic conical hot air generators, effectively giving the consumers a choice of four vaporizer sets.

But whichever choice you make, there is no difference as far as vaporization features are concerned.

Volcano Vaporizer Easy Valve Set

As the name suggests, the Easy Valve enjoys easy handling with little maintenance work.

The Easy Valve was developed from user comments and suggestions for a fast and more convenient way to use either of the two Volcano hot air generators.

You don’t have to clean the valve and mouth piece. You only need to replace them outright after they’ve seen better days.

The Easy Valve is best used with the more recent Volcano hot air generators sporting a black seating, which it’s optimized precisely for it.

Volcano Vaporizers manufactured since 2006 have this type of vent. The filling chamber on the Easy Valve “clicks” perfectly on its black seat.

But you still can use the Easy Valve on older models which have a grey colored vent. You just won’t hear a “click” and it doesn’t lock perfectly as in the newer black vents.

Volcano Vaporizer Solid Valve Set

This is the original valve that went into the production of either Digital or Classic hot air generators.

It comes with accessories such as cleaning brush, normal screen set, liquid pad for heating liquids and an extra roll balloon where the vapor is collected and stored.

The Sold valve itself consists of sub-assembly parts that use these accessories:

  • Filling Chamber for Herbs: is designed to hold a small amount of herbs you intend to have vaporized.

  • Filling Chamber for Liquids: is designed to hold liquids and oils for vaporization.  This is where the liquid pads apply and need to be cleaned or replaced after each use.

  • Mouthpiece: this is attached to the balloon to seal off the vapor being collected into the balloon and used for your inhalation through the mouth.

  • Filling Chamber Insert: is an assembly that contains the upper screen to trap herb particles from getting into the valve.

  • Screen Set: this is either Normal or Fine meshed steel screens positioned in the chamber insert that may be cleaned or replaced after each use.

A consumer needs to be bit more patient and informed on how to put together the parts and accessories of the Solid Valve as well as how to clean them properly.

Each of the accessories that come with the solid valve set is sold for your convenience

Volcano Vaporizer Classic Review

Volcano Vaporizer Classic Review

Made in Germany by Storz & Bickel, the Volcano Classic line of vaporizers was introduced in 2002 as a user-friendly alternative to many vaporizers emerging in the market.

The Classic Volcano Vaporizer uses the Vent Balloon Delivery System and it gets its name from its conical brushed metal body that looks like a volcano with the cone top releasing vapors through a valve vented into a balloon. The balloon is made of 100% polyester that is safe food-grade quality that traps and stores the vaporized substance.

It uses an iron-core heater inside that is pump-driven to ensure sustained heating and air movement through the substance to be vaporized and into the balloon bag. Its high-performance heater and able diaphragm pump are durable enough to withstand the stress of daily use.

The valve venting the vapors to the balloon is made of heat-tempered steel and plastic parts that can be cleaned or replaced after use.

User-Friendly Operation

  • The Classic Volcano Vaporizer comes with a rotary knob to set and control its various temperature settings ranging from 266 to 446 degrees Fahrenheit with a tolerance variation of plus or minus 9 degrees. This range enables it to vaporize just about any substance or herbal mixture.

  • A control light lights up to indicate when the desired temperature has been reached and when it goes off, vaporization is complete and you can start inhaling the contents of the balloon. There’s a user manual that details the needed instructions with pictures. Education is needed for new users especially in the maintenance of its parts.

  • The desired temperature can be achieved in 2 minutes with a cooling down period of 3 – 5 minutes.

  • Each unit comes with a 3-year manufacturing warranty limited to normal use, after which, it can be serviced for a nominal fee at any Storz & Bickel repair outlet.

  • The vapor stored in the balloon is visible and can be felt as the balloon itself expands to accommodate it. The vapors in the balloon remain effective for up to 8 hours when stored.

Conclusion

The Volcano Vaporizer Classic proves to be a class act among analog vaporizers in the market today.

This is one model that can achieve precise timing and efficiency at which different herbal blends attain vaporization and makes the Classic Volcano a premier choice in the market. Its solid build and precise processing makes it a fine choice that while, expensive, delivers great value on its promise.

Cooking with Volcano Vaporizer

Cooking with Volcano Vaporizer

As a culinary art and gastronomic pleasure, you can look at eating as interplay of olfactory and gustatory senses. That means the senses of smell and taste.

Smell often accounts for increasing or diminishing our appetite. You only need to recall the last time you suddenly felt the pangs of hunger after catching the aroma of a dish being cooked.  Here is where using vaporizing technology can be harnessed. Releasing the natural aroma and flavors of one of the major ingredients in the foods we eat adds to the gastronomic experience.

Vaporizing to Release Food Flavor and Aroma

Vaporizers are great kitchen aids for the sole purpose of releasing the food flavor and aroma that makes eating more pleasurable.

The process is quite simple. We used the Volcano Vaporizer Classic as our vaporizer. Just about any dried ingredient can be vaporized such as spices, cocoa, lavender, onions, etc. You only need to modify the Volcano vaporizer’s valve to accept a heat-resistant hose directed to the food you want enhanced.

To operate one, you just set the vaporizer to the required temperature, put into the solid valve filling chamber the desired substance to be vaporized, turn on its fan which forces enough heated air through the substance and into the hose with the aroma.  This passes the desired flavor through the hose and into the dish, drink or dessert.

Infusing Flavor

Vaporization has a way of infusing added flavor to a drink or food. A tequila drink for instance can be enhanced with adding the subtle aroma of vaporized vanilla into it.  Deserts are the best candidate for this process.  There are quite a number of possibilities you can experiment on to see what natural substances can produce the right aroma to further add a different waft of flavorful scent to an existing pastry, cake or confection.

For instance, using the same vaporizing process above, we infused a closed box of peaches and cream desert with vaporized Tahitian vanilla.  The aroma clung on the desert components for more than a day so that when you open it, the vanilla aroma hits you first.

Another infusion is made on an identical set of peaches and cream, this time using vaporized cloves.  It’s interesting to note how different aroma can influence the gastronomic perception even if the dessert is basically identical.

Expensive Enhancers

The Volcano Vaporizer is one expensive kitchen aid alright. But it’s a great food enhancer. You may want to look at other cheaper vaporizers to achieve the same end. But for sure, vaporizers can now be considered as gastronomic kitchen aids.
